Friday Crush

Image via One Kings Lane

I have been toying with painting the vintage dresser in the nursery yellow, but I hesitate. I love all colors but yellow is truly one that I don't use in my house. And Le Lac has SO many colors to choose from it's making the decision quite difficult. But something keeps bringing me back to yellow and when I came across the above dresser this week, it seemed to be fate giving me the thumbs up.

I'm hoping we tackle the dresser painting this weekend. [Expletive that starts with an "s"] is getting real around here, so this nursery needs to wrap up so I can move on to other pre-baby tasks in the coming weeks...you hear me nursery?

Happy weekend...see you Monday!

  1. I have always loved pale yellow in nurseries. I used it in my oldest kids' rooms but I have seen so many people fumble and head towards schoolbus yellow..YUCK!

Dorothy Draper said every room needs a splash of yellow even if its just a stack of books or vase of flowers. DD has specified a clear lemon yellow no brown in it; I'm not a yellow person either but DD was right. Yellow acts as a light and I think this chest will look fabulous in baby S's room.

Go for the yellow! Yellow is almost a neutral, if you don't have anything else in the room that color it still goes. Good luck this weekend!

  4. That is stunning. I think yellow works best in nurseries and kitchens, but then again, Jenna Lyon's brownstone famously had splashes of yellow and it looked amazing.

What is Le Lac? A type of paint or a painting service?

LOVE the faux bamboo. Dorothy Draper is always right. Go with yellow.

  7. I just discovered your blog and it's terrific! I think your nursery is going to be gorgeous! It reminds me very much of my all time fav nursery room, a little girls space that was included in Domino's book. I can't wait to see it all put together!
