Friday Crush

Crushing on a new Etsy site - PopOColor - that has some killer designer pillows ready to make their way to your home. I'm really into the combination of this Quadrille pillow with this Kate Spade for Kravet pillow. Sidenote, did you know there was Kate Spade for Kravet? I did not. Now I do. And now I want these pillows.

I turn 35 tomorrow. Should be a great weekend. See you next week!

Etsy Shop: Wheaton Whaley Designs

My Etsy wanderings recently landed me at this adorable South Carolina-based shop, Wheaton Whaley. Chock full of darling pillows and monogrammed gifts.

That first pillow is the loveliest shade of cornflower blue - not easy to find. And let me tell you that with wedding season and summer entertaining underway, nothing makes a better gift than monogrammed cocktail napkins. Always well-received.

Catalog Pick: Aztec Pillows

Stumbled across some fancy pillows at Home Decorators that I thought we should all put on our radar. I love a good Southwestern motif and the cobalt + black color combo is 100% on point.

Both from the Aztec Collection (which apparently is only comprised of these two pillows):

The square Xtec Pillow is 18", $35 INCLUSIVE of the insert and ships free. The lumbar Diamond Southwest Pillow is $32 INCLUSIVE of the insert and ships free. This is a stylish deal to be had, folks. Both should likely be purchased and mix and match away with what you have now.

And I'll be Capt. Obvious that new pillows are the perfect way to usher in Fall and spice up your current look and these are oh-so warm and moody. Do it!

Catalog Pick: Parker Pom Pom Pillow

I love pillows with a fun texture, especially pom poms. Great in a neutral space where you aren't trying to infuse color but texture goes a long way.

And I particularly like the more "adult" look of the Parker Pom Pom Raffia Pillow from Ballard as poms can get a little too whimsical sometimes:

There is also a navy option whose photograph looks much like the black one. Don't you think the gray one would be right at home with beiges and winter whites? And that black one would do wonderful things paired with buffalo check.

Have you seen similar pom pillows around? I don't see them often and would love to check out more...

Felt Applique Pillows on Etsy

I have long since had this handmade bunny pillow from Etsy shop Cheeky Monkey Home on my favorites list. The sweet pink tone, adorable pom fringe and frolicking bunnies caught my eye and the upcoming Easter holiday reminded me that I should share it with you.

It also comes in blue and a pair would be just about the cutest accent on twin beds in a shared boy/girl bedroom.

If you love these pillows like I do, you'll fall in love with this Etsy seller whose whimsical felt pillow creations are completely delightful. All you need is one to inject a space with fun:

^^I think Mac needs this one for his non-existent nursery^^

That last one is actually a custom silhouette of your little one! That's amazingly cute.

If you had no idea these pillows were out there, you're welcome.

Hand-painted Pillows

I stumbled across these delightful hand-painted pillows on Etsy from shop MerryMery based in Santiago, Chile. Don't you love that? That you can score Chilean pillows with a couple of mouse clicks? I do.

Aren't these sweet?

These would be darling on a white slipcovered couch in a lake or river cottage....or just on your bed. Something about the simplicity of the florals in primary colors against white just really grabbed my attention.

The shop is full of totally gorgeous canvas bags that appear to be the main focus but you can find these pillows here and here.

Kilim Pillow Source

If you love kilim pillows, you are going to be very happy because I found a great source on Etsy - Decolic - that has a fabulous selection, wonderful colors and great prices.

Check out these pillows in the most wonderful shades of orchid!

Amazing, right? They are super-duper chic and are just a small sample of what this shop has for selection.

You're Welcome.

A little peek at a client project as seen through the eyes of the (world-changing) Waterlogue app:

Because I think you need more Waterlogued photos in your life.

Happy hump day!

Vintage Textile Pillows

Loving these pillows made from vintage textiles:

Etsy shop BylinaStudio, based in Barcelona, takes bits of embroidered vintage tablecloths, vintage woven towels, even some vintage costuming and creates these beautiful pillow covers. Even though they sport colorful patterns, I think the aesthetic here is really soft and lovely. And though some of these patterns are vintage, they sure have a modern vibe to them.

Quadrille Patchwork Pouf

This Morrocan pouf cover is made from a patchwork of Quadrille fabrics....I spot many of my favorites. What a brilliant idea by Etsy seller MarleyMaterial. If you have $475 burning a hole in your pocket, consider spending it here (keep in mind that Quadrille fabric is really pricey).

We all know this because we read design blogs, but I'm not sure other humans know that you can find so many pillows, pillow covers, and sometimes poufs on Etsy made from all of the high-end fabric designers. Schumacher, Kravet, Brunschwig - most of the hip fabrics are available and pillows are a great way to add a designer fabric to your home without spending hundreds on yardage. Check out my ideabook on Houzz that rounds up several designer pillows available on Etsy...

Black Chinoiserie Pillows via Etsy

An Etsy search led me to these wonderful black pillow covers done in a Cowtan and Tout print by seller Martha & Ash. Don't you love the black background? Would look amazing on a black couch, if such a thing exists.

Otomi Pillows via Etsy

Mexican Otomi textiles are having a bit of a heyday right now and for good reason. The bold silhouettes of flora and fauna have a modern, graphic appeal and they are incredibly fun to look at.

Most Otomi items I see are done in bold colors, so I was so delighted to see a different option in these beautiful neutral Otomi pillow covers on Etsy from Annie Ross Designs:

The colors are absolutely gorgeous, don't you think??? A great Etsy find...especially since they are only $38 (for the pillow cover)!

Colorful Chinoiserie Pillows

I was recently flipping through the pictures on my phone and came across this awesome pillow collection I spotted in a shop during our Lowcountry Tour.

Unfortunately, I don't recall the shop or the city but I should have known that Furbish would carry these pillows (or some that are very similar to the ones I saw).

I love the vibrancy of the colors! Just one of these bold pillows could really make a room...like the dragon pillow on a pink wingback chair. I'll leave you contemplating that situation...

Vintage Tammis Keefe Scarf Pillows

Until recently, I did not know of Tammis Keefe. But one of my Etsy searches introduced me to these gorgeous pillows, and I discovered that Ms. Keefe was a scarf and textile designer in the 40s & 50s. And Etsy seller cfsdesign has created some beautiful, one-of-a-kind pillows using vintage Keefe scarves.

I think these pillows are so beautiful! They are slightly quirky, slightly formal and definitely unique. Placing one in an armchair or as the centerpiece on a sofa would be amazing. And I know we all love to see beautiful old things re-purposed into something new.

Visit cfsdesign's Etsy shop to check out her collection.

Chiang Mai on Sale

In the spirit of the upcoming Black Friday (or better yet Small Business Saturday), I am bringing you one heck of a deal today!

How about a pair (a PAIR) of 18" Chiang Mai pillow covers for $80? Two. For $80.

In one of those kismet moments, I came across the Etsy shop Aurelia who sells amazing designer pillow covers for really reasonable prices. I contacted her for a custom size and she responded that she reads my blog (from New Zealand!) and loves all things Chinoiserie like moi.

And the best part is that she wanted to offer AO readers 20% off her loot. Woohoo! That means Kelly Wearstler, Chiang Mai and all your favorite friends are bananas affordable - just in time for holiday sprucing, gift lists and general merriment.

The details: shop link, code: AESTHETICOISEAU20

I got these Kelly Wearstler Bengal Bazaar pillows (in 20" - Aurelia does custom sizes, just convo her on Etsy):

She also has Kelly Wearstler Imperial Trellis, Celerie Kemble Bleeker,  and a variety of fun Chinoiserie fabrics.

If I am not mistaken, that just made your day. Please shop 'till you drop and give another wonderful Etsy seller your business. Don't we all love Etsy? What on earth did we ever do without it?

Green Leopard Loot

Scoooooore! (a la Univision soccer commentator)

I nabbed a pair of these leopard print pillows from Dana Gibson that were on One Kings Lane yesterday. Did you happen to get the LivingSocial deal for OKL that ran a couple of weeks ago? (I tweeted the link to it...) Well, I did. And the deal was $35 for $70 worth of merch.

I told myself I would hold on to the certificate to buy something lovely, but practical, from OKL as I run across things I really like on that site ALL THE TIME. Well, the practical bit went out the window when I saw this circular, green, modified leopard print situation yesterday.

I'm thinking the pillow pair will be a great addition to the bed in my guest bedroom/office. The room is currently woefully neglected but I've been constructing my plan slowzky and I think it will turn out great.

Here's what I'm thinking for a color scheme:

The leopard pillows will fit right in!
