Angie Hranowsky: The Rucker Home

Charleston-based Angie Hranowsky is always on my short list of favorite designers. She has the magic touch - great mix of color, texture, style...and it all seems so effortless when you look at one of her finished spaces.

I was thrilled to see the home she designed for Darius Rucker and family as featured on Domaine:

Love the high-contrast, boho, art-filled spaces she created in this comfortable home. I mean, it's clearly high-end design, but it feels so warm and approachable. And I always LOVE Angie's use of rosy pinks, lavenders, and orchid. She does that color range justice.

The best part of the Domaine feature is that it's shoppable...so as you look through the many photos, there are links to key pieces that you can buy to recreate the look. Check out all the photos here...

Yellow Lavender Boho Glam Bedroom

I needed a dose of Angie Hranowsky today...she is amazing. I love how she has mixed yellows and lavenders in this room, but didn't shy away from also incorporating mirrored pieces that have a silver hue to them. I think they give the room great dimension and the mirrored pieces make what is otherwise a boho space feel more glam.

And the yellow lamps are killer, aren't they? If you like the look, there are many pairs to be had on Etsy:

HomeGoods is also always a great source for colorful lamps and my local store seems to be big on mirrored cabinets recently, so you could likely snag a pair of those too if you have an HG close to you.

Angie & Lavumchid

I think lavender/plum/orchid is having a moment, don't you? I love how Angie Hranowsky has used the regal hue in this home:

The tones in that work of art are outstanding. My favorite color to pair with lavumchid is definitely green....something about the combo is so, so attractive.

The shade of lavumchid that I have worked in throughout my own house is definitely the orchid tone, like this room by Angie:

The shade is characterized by touches of pink, and I LOVE, LOVE it. Especially how Angie uses it here with brass and wood.

Have you always been a lavumchid devotee? Or a new lover of its various shades? Or you're still not into it?

p.s. Every time I speak Angie's name on this blog I feel compelled to tell you how much I enjoy her work. It's amazing. I love her. I want to live in all of her homes. She's prolly my favorite designer.

Wallpapered Ceiling

I have been contemplating the ceilings of my house lately. The majority are all white, and that fact is starting to annoy me. I love a detailed ceiling and I adore rooms where the ceiling gets lost. Like this one by Angie Hranowsky in the latest issue of Lonny.

The only room with a painted ceiling in our house is our bedroom, mainly because it has awkward slanted bits, like this space, and painting it one uniform color made it all flow and feel more open. It's a brilliant little trick, but I like that Angie pushed the envelope by wallpapering with a divine orange and pink Chinoiserie paper - so perfect for a little lady.

Valentine Crush

Design by Angie Hranowsky

A sultry space for you to ponder this Valentine's Day. Angie Hranowsky makes color work. And in the sea of pink and red you'll see today, I hope you don't forget the romantic power of lavender/lilac/plum - a hue that has quickly turned into a favorite for me.

I hope you have some amazing plans with the cheese to your macaroni this evening.

XOXO

Friday Crush

Bliss. Courtesy of Angie Hranowsky. Just a warning - Ms. H has enough images in her portfolio to supply me with Friday crushes for years - you'll see her work again. She is quickly becoming one of my go-to designers for inspiration. This room is no exception - it's terrific. I love the color palette, but I can't decide if the x bench or the coffee table is my favorite element in the room....or perhaps the paint color - high marks for excellent purple execution.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend - see you Monday!

Friday Crush

Friday love for Angie Hranowsky. I have seen Angie's name floated around design blogs for a while and have peeked at her portfolio, but I spent a good amount of time this week actually POURING through her portfolio and I'm in awe. I literally love every room this woman designs...kind of like a CD where all the tracks are good. This little vignette above stuck with me - the painting with the hint of the chandy and the accessories is fab.

And, she's a girl after my own heart because she's a graphic designer AND an interior designer and thus runs a design studio where all matters of aesthetics are considered for her clients...love it.

Busy, busy weekend ahead with events and celebrating my dad's birthday and mother's day...hope you all have a lovely weekend. See you Monday!
