Catalog Pick: Wisteria Blue Dhurrie

Have you seen the latest Wisteria catalog? The dhurrie rug featured on the cover is gorgeous.

The pattern is terrific and the shades of sky blue and cobalt blue create the perfect combination. The catalog uses the rug in a coastal-inspired space with turquoise to great effect. I would love to combine it with lavender and green.

It comes in a 6x9 and 9x12 - check it out here.

Friday Crush

Image via bhg.com

I really love this bedroom that, with a couple of changes, would be the perfect bedroom for a young man. I'm working on a guest bedroom and we are using both a secretary and a Moravian star pendant and I think the result is going to be fabulous. This is one of those rooms where I can't pinpoint one exact thing that I love...it just all works together so well. Although I can pinpoint the suitcases, which I don't like.

I'm so happy it's Friday! Have a terrific weekend...see you Monday!

Rocking Chair Makeover

Remember my friend Katy and her yellow + gray + pink nursery? I have some great pictures to share of her rocking chair revamp. Much like my last nursery project, Katy and I found an inexpensive rocking chair second-hand via Craigslist. This time time we only paid $30!

The chair before:

Yes, it's in a parking lot. The consignment shop selling it had it packed in a storage unit, so they unpacked the unit for me to show me the chair.

Once we had the chair, our next step was to take it and our chosen fabric to my magical upholsterer Hakan Saka of Simply Reupholstery. Hakan not only upholstered the chair this time, but he also painted it. And the results were awesome, as usual.

Check out the chair and a peek at Katy's gray striped walls:

I love how Hakan laid the pattern on the chair and the paint job is perfect. It is a completely different chair and incredibly chic! And bonus is that it's really comfortable for Katy.

I've told you guys about Hakan before, but I will keep recommending him to anyone in the area. He's based out of Sterling and works quick and his pricing is very reasonable. If you are interested in revamping a piece of your own, contact him at simplyreupholstery@hotmail.com.

Cheetah Wallpaper

It wasn't until about the fourth time that I looked at this image that I realized this was a bathroom vanity.

The python sink bowl blends in pretty well with that cheetah wallpaper. And speaking of that wallpaper, it's my current wallpaper obsession. I keep going through scenarios of how I could use it in my house. The paper is from Thibaut and I spotted (pun) this fabulous instance of it on Everything LEB.

Lucky for all of us, Furbish carries it so this is one soon-to-be-if-not-already-is iconic wallpaper that is actually available for quick and easy purchase.

It also comes in orange (!) and aqua:

Be still my heart.

Chinoiserie Fabrics from Braemore

Braemore has a new (to me) collection of Chinoiserie fabrics and they are awesome. And they all coordinate to create a symphony of pretty with loads of gorgeous colors.

Imperial Treasure:

Emperor's Garden:

Secret Garden:

Isn't that a great collection?? The possibilities of mixing and coordinating these fabrics are endless. I especially love that pink geometric with the green/pink colorway of Imperial Treasure. Gorgeous! And all fabrics are $25/yd.

Check out the collection here...

Traditional Southern Design

My Pastel Punch post from last week introduced me to North Carolina-based Nancy Taylor Lynch Interior Design by way of reader Molly who let me know that one of the pictures I posted was from Nancy's design firm. Thanks Molly!

I took a gander at NTLID's website and absolutely loved so much of their work - it is quintessential traditional Southern style.

I am so drawn to this style because I always use it as my foundation. Though my own home and design plans may not end up quite as traditional as these spaces by Nancy and her team, I think I always start with "Southern traditional" and inevitably mix in other styles that I like.

Do you have a design style that you feel is always your starting point?

Friday Crush

I never tire of a fresh spring green and white combination and I absolutely love the pairing as interpreted by Thibaut in this image of its Thai Ikat wallpaper and fabric pattern. I  LOVE that table and the white looks so pretty against those hardwood floors. If this wasn't a Thibaut product image, I think the walls would look terrific paired with a lilac patterned fabric on the chairs...but I'd honestly take it as is too!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend...see you Monday!

Lavender Dream Living Room

While on the subject of Eileen Kathryn Boyd and pastels this week, let's discuss this bananas lavender adventure of a living room designed by EKB for, what I think, is a Traditional Home Holiday showhouse (can someone verify this?):

All images via ekbinteriors.com

Where do you start with a space like this? The emerald green is the perfect touch to Eileen's use of various shades of lilac, lavender and orchid. And I love just a peek of aqua in the chair and how the room is grounded with taupe.

Note the painted panels, or is it framed wallpaper? Either way, what a genius way to decorate the walls that adds both color and texture and could really be a crazy wonderful DIY project that would be a lot easier then painting every inch of your wall in a watercolor pattern or wallpapering a whole room.

I also like the ottoman and parsons coffee table combo - perfectly versatile to move both pieces around.

What a breathtaking space...my word!

Tempest by Eileen Kathryn Boyd for Duralee

I found a great deal on one of Eileen Kathryn Boyd's fabrics for Duralee. It's called Tempest and is so unusual and gorgeous. I own this fabric in dune and pool (bought elsewhere) and they are terrific in person.

Fabric.com has four colorways for $24/yd!

The pattern reminds me of stylized seaweed...it's edgy and unique. Like I said, really pretty in person and all four colorways are stunning.

I find that when fabric.com has a good deal on high-end fabric like this, it's a limited quantity and sells out relatively quickly and doesn't come back in stock. Just a heads up!

Pastel Punch

I have been so attracted to interiors that use one pastel color to great effect - and my Pinterest account is lit up with these spaces. I keep babbling about loving mint and pink but I think that extends to just all pastels. Is it Spring fever? I don't know, but I am absolutely enamored with these colors.

I would love a candy-colored house featuring each of these spaces - a pink foyer, a green living room, a turquoise dining room, and let's say a lavender game room (looks like a nice game table to me!)

Pink Fabrics

Along with mint, pink has had a large share of my brain function as of late. I think it's because it's now Spring and I want everything in my house to have a dose of femininity. My new favorite game is to look at pink fabric online.

So far, I think this one is my favorite:

It's called Empress of India by Warwick and I found it on the Lewis & Sheron website. I love the various shades of coraly pink mixed with leaf and spring greens and taupe. A traditional Jacobean floral that would look awesome in a bright sunny space like a breakfast nook or a very pretty bedroom.

I also really like this fabric by Robert Allen called Flintwick Flame...very Katie Ridder-esque.

My internet wandering led me to many pink fabrics that I tagged as lovely, so I put them into my latest ideabook for Houzz:

Pretty in pink! Happy Monday :)
