John Robshaw for College

Rewind.

Did you know John Robshaw has a collection for Target? Is this super old news that outs me as someone totally out of touch with the world? (Because I am, though I try to look like I'm not)

Well, I was cruising Target aisles this weekend and caught a glimpse of this sensational John Robshaw quilt:

This picture doesn't do the quilt's pattern justice - it's the loveliest shade of light blue with a white pattern.

Before you get too excited (like I did)...it appears this bedding collection is only for those of us who are college-bound and will sleep in a Twin XL for 1-4 years. Bummer.

But if you have a student bound for the great beyond, check out some of the collection:

Like most collections, I probably wouldn't match it ALL like some of these photos suggest...but picking up just the quilt or a pillow or two would really be a great addition to a space.

Check out the full collection here...

Hump Day Takeaway

Image via atlantahomesmag.com

On this fine Wednesday, let's examine this butler's pantry and the fact that the cabinetry, walls, and molding are painted the same color. I have contemplated this in the past, but never seen it in action. And now that I have, I like it.

The effect is great in a small (I think) pantry painted a moody gray. But I would wager that this also probably looks dynamite in a bigger kitchen space...to make the whole kitchen feel "built-in." Now, kitchens by definition ARE built in, but the cabinets usually contrast from the walls...but what if they blended with the walls? Using a color (i.e. not white)?

I approve and I'm saving this idea for future use.

MCM Buffalo Check

We've talked about how much I like buffalo check many, many, many times. And I have a morsel to add to the conversation - the Jack Collection from Schoolhouse Electric (no idea they had furniture):

I am 100% into it. Mid-Century Modern, on the other hand, doesn't get my full devotion at all times, but I do appreciate it in bits and pieces. I think it can give a traditional room a slight edge. For example, that loveseat would be so at home paired with a classic sofa.

Black and white buffalo check forever.

Back from Spain...a month ago.

Oh hey. I got back from Spain...a month ago...and took unscheduled leave. Whoopsies.

Once I tune out from regular life it's a struggle to tune back in. But I'm getting there. Wanna see some pictures from my trip? Sevilla and Barcelona provided the backdrop...

I did indeed go to that adorable tapas bar I left you hanging with - see picture 2 and 3 above. It was beyond lovely. And the sangria (pitcher) was delicious. So much so that we were unable to try on the 37 rompers we picked out at Zara following lunch.

The weather was gorgeous and as you can see, my eyes were delighted with lots of stunning visuals (I toured a cava winery - see white train pic - INSANE). I had gelato almost every day. And wine. And all the fried patatas ever created. Ever. And I wanted to buy every flamenco dress I saw because I'm pretty sure the cut would be flattering, though perhaps not practical.

Travel is good for the soul, y'all. And I missed you. Happy summer...
