Bailey & Griffin Charmetie

This fabric is all over my brain right now. Bailey & Griffin's Charmetie in Peacock.

Above image from Coastal Living

It has singed my eyeballs in the best way possible and I can't stop thinking about it. Especially how it's used in that Coastal Living image...which, psbtw, if you know additional source info, I would love to add it - designer and photog.

The colors in this fabric are my favorites - orchid, green, light blue. And the small scale print in the background keeps it feeling modern.

The colorways available are all ridiculously gorgeous:

The price point is not for the faint of heart. But details. Click here to buy it...

Harrison Howard Fabric

Big news. One of my favorite artists - renowned  creator of fanciful Chinoiserie works, Harrison Howard - has.......wait for it.......FABRIC.

And it's beautiful and incredibly affordable.

Are you beside yourself with joy?? Imagine all of that Chinoiserie wonder gracing curtains in your dining room! I know...it's a lot to take in. Especially at under $25/yard.

The full line that I have seen is available at housefabric.com here. I have yet to do my due diligence to see if it's being carried anywhere else (I think it might be exclusive) or if there are more fabrics in the line. But this sampling is plenty and wonderful. Enjoy!

Waverly Fabrics

Every so often, I dip into a fabric search for the brand Waverly. Always affordable, I find that it usually delights me with some winners.

This time, blue and white fabrics caught my eye.

Fleuretta Bluejay - On my immediate short list to cover a pair of (imaginary) club chairs. Has a bit of a Pyne Hollyhock flair.

Monkey Jars Tide Pool - Singerie at its best. I will say, monkeys are not my jam, but I get it if they are yours. And these are adorable. Not to mention the blue/white porcelain. Are you a Chinoiserie lover with a breakfast nook that could use a window valence or some pillows? Here you go.

Williamsburg Charlotte Twill Bluebell - Really timeless. If you look closely at the petals, the fabric has a lovely blue/white stripe pattern that I would tease out elsewhere.

Any favorites?

Alice in Wonderland Fabric from Rifle Paper Co.

I was unaware that the creative powerhouse - Rifle Paper Co. - has a (limited) fabric line. If you are a lover of the company's signature florals, you can own them in textile fashion.

And if you happen to be a lover of their signature florals AND Alice in Wonderland, well, you are in luck:

How precious is this fabric? That parade with the lobster and turtle might be my favorite. And this is just a teensy sampling...many more patterns to be found here.

Most of the line is comprised of cotton, meaning that you can get some pillows out of it...possibly some lightweight curtains if you beef up with a liner. If you are looking to cover your favorite chair in an Alice print, your selection is limited to just a couple of heavier weight options...though the adorable signature print (first one pictured) is available.

If you happen to be a seamstress of clothes, you should go ham on the previously mentioned cotton if you have any children in your life.

Chinoiserie Toile Fabric Score

Fabric house Waverly is once again bringing its Chinoiserie A-game. I recently discovered this fabric - Haiku Toile Chintz Noir - and it's really, really good.

So is the Indigo colorway:

And it's around $17-$20 a yard. That's phenomenal. Now, I'm not sure it's up to the task of upholstery (sadly) but you are looking at ridiculous curtains or pillows or a bedskirt. I love the light, airy feel of this toile. Nothing crazy and heavy...just delicate monotone shades that depict lovely little scenes.

I ran a Google search for you so you can shop it at various places and in some additional colorways - click here to see the options.

Do tell if you use it.

Forbidden City Fabric

Looking for fabric for a client, I came across this gem. I will not bury the lead - it's $7.49/yard at Calico Corners.

That's insanity. It's called Forbidden City in Feather Gray.

If you like neutrals that kick it up a notch, this should be your jam. And if you use it for upholstery, I would highly suggest a contrast welt in that cinnamon tone.

My brain is hard at work thinking where I can use this...or perhaps I should just purchase and hoard. That's always an option.

Scalamandre Shantung Garden

Change of season usually brings new fabrics and I am particularly happy about Scalamandre's Spring 2016 fabric, Shantung Garden, in the Verdance colorway.

The range of greens with touches of gray is oh-so fresh and I always love my classic Chinoiserie patterns. This one is a winner, folks!

Fabric Find: Brunschwig & Fils Treganza Chintz

This ridiculous chintz by Brunschwig & Fils called Treganza (I think) is for sale on eBay for some great prices - 5 and 6 yard pieces for around $200. I SO wish I had a chair that needed upholstery.

The blue colorway is listed here for $210 for 6 yards.

The yellow colorway is listed here for $175 for 5 yards.

Those are some good deals for such a vibrant fabric. Look at all of those colors! I would upholster a small club chair in either of them (though, if this is your plan, definitely check that's enough yardage as I imagine that pattern is tricky).

If a whole chair won't work, dining room chair seats would be bananas. Enjoy!

Schumacher Classics

Schumacher's Instagram feed has been teasing us with their new "Schumacher Classics" collection - a round-up of some of their most iconic prints redone in some amazing, fresh colorways.

Like my beloved Lotus Garden - the fabric I used in our master bedroom - is now this bananas jade green and orchid situation:

Isn't it magnificent? This will forever be one of my most favorite prints so I love to see that it's been given new life via color.

Here are some other previews, all just as gorgeous:

I am so excited to see these new fabrics start popping up with designers - I'll be keeping an eye out. The fabrics will be available in showrooms starting January 9th.

See the Instagram bits here...

Fabric Find: Elephant Walk by Brunschwig & Fils

Friends - do you happen to be decorating a room for a young lady? Because I found an amazing fabric listing on Etsy for your project - 1.5 yds of Elephant Walk by Brunschwig & Fils:

Paint a vintage bed pink and make a bolster to go with orange and white bedding...then upholster a chair in lipstick red with pink piping and this fabric as another pillow. Or make some pelmet boxes to tie these colors together. You can do a lot with 1.5 yards of fabric!

And don't forget the touches of black and brown in the elephant...maybe a black and white rug would look great in this mix? Or a pair of black gourd lamps sitting on an orange dresser? There is a lot we can do with this.

(Speaking of, do you know I can take something like this and create a room plan for you? I get that question a good bit so now you know.)

Please buy this and tell me what you're going to do with it. Listing link here...

Fabric Deal: Brunschwig Chenonceaux

I just found a spectacular deal on one of my favorite fabrics on eBay. Raise your hand if you love Brunschwig & Fils' Chenonceaux.

It has always been a favorite of mine. And I just found 6 yards of the pinky/green colorway on eBay for $160!!! That's RIDICULOUS.

See the listing here »

I'm really trying not to hoard fabric these days so I'm walking away but the next best thing to buying is sharing. Tell me if you get it! And how you'll use it! (I would opt for upholstering a small chair)

Castletown Line Coral On Sale

This fabric - Castletown Line Coral by Lee Jofa - has been in my favorites bin for some time. I just checked up on it and it's on sale, so time to share the goodness:

An exuberant floral in tones of green and peach...the colors are really what nab me here. With bold florals, I like to go big or go home. Hit up some curtains or a full upholstered sofa with it. Let it be the focus of a room and then sit back and admire your gumption for picking something so chic.

On insidefabric.com (where I found it) - it's usually $75/yard, which is what I like to call a "pillows only" price. But it's now on sale for $24/yard! That moves it into "kinda expensive upholstery and curtains but maybe I could swing it" pricing. Though, the minimum is 5 yards. But since you're going to do something ballsy with it, you'll need that much anyway.

Go forth and save.

Check Fabric on Sale

Few things bring as much joy to my heart as a piece of furniture upholstered in checks. Gingham, buffalo, bright, neutral - whatever the flavor, the geometric statement virtually always looks amazing. It was my personal choice for Ana Claire's nursery chair (pink buffalo check with red trim) and I have never looked back.

That's all to tell you that I saw a good check printed fabric online for a great price - budget-friendly enough to bring it into the 12-yard realm needed to upholster that old sofa. But first, some inspiration:

And now the on-sale fabric - Premier Prints Anderson in a variety of colors - all for under $10/yd - on fabric.com:

That Aloe color (#2) is amazing. I want it. I'm actively fighting the impulse to buy and hoard as I don't need it now but I'm SURE I'd have the perfect way to use it in the future. Right?

Robert Allen Chinoiserie High Low

Oh hey, y'all! I'm still here! I didn't plan to take all of February but there you go. Baby Mac is doing great and the adjustment to being a family of four is going well - not without its bumps, but I can't complain. Mac is 2 months old today! Where is the time going?

But enough about me, let's talk about some fantastic Chinoiserie fabric I came across recently. Both by Robert Allen - one budget-friendly, one not.

First, the lovely Neo Toile. So many colors - I love a good, colorful Chinoiserie toile:

Love the coral red. And it comes in a bunch of other colorways that skew quite modern.

Next, the bananas Hidden Temple:

 ^^ Eddie Ross ^^

LOVE the pink + aqua + green combination.

Now, if you haven't clicked the links, guess which is high and which is low.....to be honest, I would think both of these were high, but Neo Toile will only set you back $22 for a yard! That's pretty good, folks. And Hidden Temple is $96/yard which is pricey, but perfect in small doses (like pillows).

Missed you!
