Black Coffee Table from Nate Berkus

A truth: Nate Berkus for Target just never disappoints.

It is so refreshing to see great design at affordable price points. And while searching for a client, I chanced upon this sexy beast of a black coffee table:

Now that is a fetching piece. And the fact that it's black means you can put it pretty much anywhere. The price point under $150 is a bonus, but it's also not puny. At 34" round, it will hold its own in a space. This one is high on my radar.

Nate Berkus for Joann

In other partnership news, Nate Berkus has designed a line of fabrics for Joann. Per the usual, his neutrals are just completely on point.

That second one is incredibly charming with its understated pattern and soft color. I love it for a bedroom mixed with aloe green.

Friday Crush

Here we go again. Another home office space. I'm not even choosing these on purpose. They have just been popping out at me every week and this one is perfection brought to you by the darling Nate Berkus. I think he might be one of my "MT" (Midas Touch) designers. That industrial-Chinoiserie chair coupled with the sawhorse desk is killer. And the wall treatment. Killer. Ok, the only teensy change I might make is that papasan-type situation in the corner. I'm sure it's a very chic chair, but anything round-ish like that doesn't do it for me. But, I'll take everything else.

I have indeed made progress on my own office. Carter put together my sleek industrial-ish desk last weekend and I've been very happy working at it. I've also picked up a lavender quilt for the bed (oddly enough from Nate's line for HSN) and decided on some fabrics.

Brass Bamboo Coffee Table Dream

Run, don't walk, to buy this incredible coffee table:

Brass? Check.

Bamboo detailing (of the refined nature, not of the tiki-bar nature)? Check.

Under $300? Check.

Nate Berkus for HSN strikes again, and this one is a humdinger. I love my coffee table - it's a lovely number from IKEA - but this coffee table is making me think of straying. It's so perfect - great scale, great lines, great price - what's not to love? It would be at home in any style room.

Page 94 of Elle Decor

Did anyone else's heart FLUTTER when they saw this drop dead gorgeous room on the cover of March's Elle Decor (and then on page 94)? Anyone?

This room will take me a while to get over/study/absorb. It's the beautiful Chicago home of Ellen Rakieten and family - Rakieten being the executive producer of The Oprah Winfrey Show. AND, the room is designed by none other than Nate Berkus partnered with Anne Coyle. Wasn't I just saying that I hadn't seen a lot of Nate's work? HELLO. Hi Nate's work. I love you.

These walls are lacquered in a rich, deep cobalt blue. And the gallery display on the walls together with touches of brass and lavender is just heaven sent. I haven't seen many cobalt (almost navy)/lavender rooms, but boy am I a believer.

I don't want to be a spoiler, so I'll only showcase this picture, but the whole place is GORGEOUS. I mean, there is a gold pig on the dining room table (which I'm sure is there year-round and not styled specifically for the shoot) with an outrageous De Gournay wall covering and custom brass dining table. It's too much to take, really. 

If you don't have a subscription to Elle Decor (why not?), you really must purchase this issue simply for this home. I haven't read the whole issue (just flipped right to this spread), but I'm sure it's a good one.

Nate Berkus Loot

I've had my eye on Nate Berkus' loot on HSN.com for quite some time. I'm not an expert on Nate's design work, but the rooms that I have seen by him I have really enjoyed. And many of his items on HSN have caught my eye since the line launched. I was completely in love with a Greek key tray that was available in the fall that I now realize would be perfect for my bedroom vanity...but I let it slip away!

Recently, I was reading this post over at Department of the Interior and I spotted some of Nate's HSN items in the featured apartment (that belongs to his sister) which prompted me to check in on Nate's collection...

I fell in love with these faux bois (and antler-ish) candlesticks a month or two ago, and they are now mine. I love their shape and their brassy/golden finish - they will either adorn our yet to be constructed fireplace mantel or a side table in our bedroom. They were only $20 - click here to pick them up.
