Friday Crush

I would like to be here this weekend. A New Orleans balcony all decked out for a summer soiree. A wrought iron porch, modern Louis chairs, a beautiful tablecloth adorned with gold chargers, silver goblets, towering candles and OF COURSE a bananas beautiful monogrammed napkin...because this table belongs to Jane Scott Hodges of Leontine Linens. You know this dinner party was amazing.

Do you have any summer entertaining on tap for this weekend? Hope this provides a little inspiration. Whatever your plans, enjoy the weekend and see you next week!

Regina Fiesta

How can you not love a fabric called Regina Fiesta?? I l-o-v-e this happy hump day find - a completely rad fabric from Pindler:

Feels very Josef Frank, no? Now, let's discuss the wonderful color tones here - aqua, persimmon, leaf green, yellow...all dancing on a white background. So much yes.

The Twitter led me to this one...check out this tweeted image from Traditional Home:

Photo: Karyn R. Millet, Design: Taylor Borsari

Wow! Now, I can't seem to find it as wallpaper but BOY does it work as a wallcovering. I just love how this designer pulled out the colors for a child's bedroom. So lively and fun.

A+

Catalog Pick: Palm Beach, Lanai Mirrors

Really loving the Palm Beach appeal of these new mirrors from Serena & Lily. The first is actually called the Palm Beach Mirror and the second is the Lanai Mirror. Both are obviously at home in any kind of beach house but I think they would look equally gorgeous in a casual, Chinoiserie-filled space.

Can you imagine the second mirror (Lanai) in a trellis-wallpapered powder room with some lovely sconces???

I have to hand it to Serena & Lily for being a catalog source that always offers something unique. They seem to be ahead of the trend curve and I love the global-inspired feel of so many of their items. And don't get me started on the baby stuff...so good.

Check out all mirrors here...

Friday Crush

Photo by Jonny Valiant via Dering Hall and House Beautiful

Be still my chintz-loving heart. This peach and aloe green situation by Brunschwig & Fils on designer Connie Newberry's curtains is simply amazing. Love the eye treat created by this vignette. Note the bugs on the plate. Love it all.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend! See you next week...

New Nursery Monogram Prints

My friend Crystal is at it again...this time with a dynamite vintage floral monogram nursery print in the most delightful color combinations, now available in her Etsy shop.

Sweet and adorable, yes? I'm a sucker for these florals and I love the imaginative color combinations. I signed up for one in a custom colorway for Ana Claire...which is not a reserved service for me because I'm special - she'll do it for you too!

I also love that these are square little numbers ready to hang in an IKEA Ribba frame...a perfect little keepsake gift.

Raleigh Charmer

Love the color effect going on in this charming Raleigh home! Anyone who paints a rainbow wall is pretty ballsy and I think the risk paid off. How could you not be instantly happy walking in to this place?

All photos by Max Kim-Bee via HGTV Magazine

Homeowner Avery Roberts (a stationery designer) was smart to use big neutral pieces here but that sweet little lime chair is doing a great job of giving you some foreground to relate to that background.

What actually caught my eye initially was this bathroom I saw on Pinterest. I couldn't stop staring at the wallpaper, though I had a strong desire to lacquer the vanity hot pink:

Take a look at the rest of the home's colorful style. Just delightful:

Bamboo for days. Juicy color. Classic pieces. Antique, vintage, modern all mixing to create a home with a bubbly personality.

See a couple more pictures - including an adorable exterior - on HGTV's website.

Friday Crush

Quadrille Henriot Floral fabric in pink? Check.

Leontine Linens? Check.

Antelope rug? Check.

I would like to be the girl that got this room, please. It's amazing. Love all the pink but it's broken up with so many other items that it feels feminine but not too girly. That monogram alone had me at hello. Found this gem on the Maddie G blog in a post appropriately titled "Pattern Mixing" - I have to agree this is a great example of pattern mixing done completely right.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating the papas in your life...see you next week!

Paint Splatter Rugs

Did you know Isaac Mizrahi now has a rug collection for Safavieh? He does. But that's not really the punch line of this post. The collection is fine - nothing particularly special...except for these paint splatter situations!

Really loving the colors and effect of these rugs and I especially like them in a runner style:

I think they would be a wonderful focal point for a white-walled hallway. They come in several sizes but you can find the runners here, here and here.

What do you think?

Lynn Chase Melamine

Bit of a slow start this week but I'm about to put a lot of happy in your hump day, so you're welcome.

Lynn. Chase. Melamine.

Yes! For reals! Un-breakable Lynn Chase gorgeousness!

I love, love, love the whimsical designs of Lynn Chase which I have always known as excellent choices for fine china. Somewhere in my brain I knew there were more casual offerings in her line-up but I didn't know there was melamine! And in one of my all-time favorite patterns - Monkey Business!

I can't think of a pattern better suited for the fun of summer outdoor entertaining. After five years, we are finally turning our attention toward our backyard and I'm in the midst of finding suitable outdoor furniture - I'll be honest that now that I know this tableware exists, I will likely be planning my backyard around it.

Check out more from Lynn Chase here including this pattern which, had I known about it, would have been a strong contender at Christmas when I was looking for new white plates.

Friday Crush

Utter bedroom beauty by Schuyler Samperton. I am completely smitten with dark traditional furniture contrasted against crisp white walls - it's the look I want for my imaginary mountain house. But I love that Schuyler has softened this space with a colorful rug and faded florals on the window and bed. My mountain house rule is little to no color but I could bend with a beautiful result like this that still maintains that crisp, clean appeal.

I hope you have some wonderful weekend plans....see you next week!

Chintz Circa 1988

Chintz, circa 1988, as used by designer Brooke Huttig. Found it on a fun slideshow by Southern Living.  Now, at first glance, my eye was happy as everything is working well together. A closer look starts to reveal some outdated elements that showcase the room's era, but the foundation is still relevant. The gorgeous blue chintz on the sofa and chairs, the silhouette of the sofa and chairs, the dhurrie, the gallery wall arrangement, the tree, the awesome architectural ceiling, the juxtaposition of white walls with color and pattern.

Give this room a new coffee table, some updated artwork and new pillows and we'd have a pretty thrilling space. And that is what one can hope for in a room - that you've chosen the foundational pieces well so that the accents can change and evolve over time without needing to completely overhaul the space.

Catalog Pick: Merletto Rug

I have been sourcing many things for clients recently and Ballard Designs is always a go-to when I think a catalog purchase might do the trick.

A recent perusal reacquainted me with the Merletto Rug that has grabbed my attention in the past:

The green tones are spectacular! And you know how I would love to use this? In a super-preppy pink and green beach house situation. Like a pink sofa with white piping with green-striped pillows. I think that would be devastatingly attractive.

Although under other circumstances green is not at the top of my list for colors, in decorating, I find that it is my favorite color. And I love it in big, strong doses.

Do you like this pick? How would you use it?
