Regina Scallop Banquette

V high on my wishlist for the new house is a dining bench situation. Not quite sure it's feasible yet but in my dream sequence, it would be this one - the Regina Scallop Banquette from One Kings Lane:

Here's the pink colorway.

I'm afraid this might remain a dream sequence. Because budget. And kids. But the inspiration is not to be minimized.

Why can't I quit scallops? No one is urging me to but, quite literally, anything scalloped jumps on my must-have list.

Loving this bench (or one like it) in situ by designer Anna Burke:

Isn't it everything? Gah. I would love it in my future dining room.

Gingham Settee

Mid-week musing - find yourself an old settee on Craigslist and recover it in gingham (or buffalo check) so it looks a little something like this:

Or just buy the one above on One Kings Lane...

Bonus points if you have a stunning wallpapered wall to set it against and opt for contrast welting:

Let's get through the rest of the week, shall we?

Cuddle Chair

First of all, this is called a cuddle chair.

The Mimi Cuddle Chair, to be exact:

And it's available on One Kings Lane. For a generous sum of dollars.

But the scalloped canopy is everything. And the bamboo frame with those little floral/quatrefoil situations around the bottom. And the striped periwinkle (!) Sunbrella fabric. So luxe and ridiculously fetching.

The inspiration is free...

Lamp Goals

I can't get this lamp out of my head. Due to the luxurious price and my 0% need for it, it will not be coming into my life but, as I always say, the next best thing to getting it is sharing it with you.

LOVE the bamboo nod without being overly bambooey. But that blue color is what is spectacular and different. It's just such a lovely hue that would set off any room. A pair of these flanking a dresser would be insane. Or just one on a nightstand would make me happy.

I literally have been thinking about it for weeks. Does that happen to you? Lamps don't leave your mind and thoughts? This is the world I live in.

If you have a 100% need for a beautiful blue lamp it's on OKL here...and if you buy it, please tell me about it.

Stepped Rex Headboard

It's been a while since I've made a purchase for the house that has thrilled me to the core...and it was worth the wait. Because I just bought a glorious upholstered headboard from One Kings Lane and had to share because it comes in some ridiculous colors AND IS ONLY $370 FOR A QUEEN.

Here is the one coming home to me - the Rex headboard in beige:

And it's going in this bedroom, which is currently our guest bedroom but will now become our sleeping quarters with Mac's move to the other downstairs bedroom for his nursery.

Let me tell you, picking a color was not simple. I really, really debated going with the lilac version because it kept visiting me in dreams...

But, alas, my rational brain won and I decided to pick a color that would safely coordinate with my current room...though I think the pattern on the one I chose spices it up a bit.

And here are even more colors to make your choice especially excruciating:

But wait...that's not even all of the colors. THERE ARE MORE - click here to see them all.  And the price ranges from $369 (twin, full, queen) to $459 (king, cal king).

This was a serious buy in my eyes...I might have strongly argued my case for a solid 4 days with Carter ("But we don't need a headboard, D...we have one that YOU picked out."...silly Carter) and eventually just had to go for it as my brain wasn't allowing for other thoughts until I bought it.

I might still be thinking about the lilac one...happy headboard shopping!

E. Svachian

Well, these are fun:

Vintage watercolors by artist E. Svachian who worked in Tehran in the 50s and 60s, per One Kings Lane where I found these colorful little works. I just LOVE the color combinations! These would be so chic as a set in a really modern space.

Unfortunately, I'm late to the game as only the first two (my favorite) are available here and here. Or Google "E. Svachian" and see what else the internet has to offer by this whimsical artist who obviously picked up on the beauty around him.

Vintage Chinese Storage Barrel

Were the Chinoiserie lovers out there eagerly awaiting the One Kings Lane Shops China sale like I was? I saw this image on Tuesday and boy did it peak my interest...

In particular that stool. THAT STOOL.

I diligently watched the clock to strike 11 am on Wednesday because I had to check out the stool. I was fully expecting it to cost more than Ana Claire's college education but I wanted to live the dream, if only for a moment.

I watched the page refresh at 11, scrolled to the stool, and clicked Add to Cart - before my brain even processed the price...a girl's gotta be frisky on OKL. So now that I had my 10 minutes to ponder, I realized that the stool was $169! A number within the realm of possibility for me. In fact, for the same price, I had recently bought some new clothes at Target so I vowed to return it all in exchange for the stool. WHO NEEDS CLOTHES?? Done and done.

And, it's not a stool...it's a storage barrel. Which I liked even more because it's functional. Thinking it might be a lovely house for my fabric rolls (without the top).

So, if you saw and loved this barrel and were wondering whose fingers were nimble enough to click their mouse first....mine were!!

Yowza

Woah. This vintage dining set has caught my eye. It's suede and brass (he-llo) and it's available in the Aerin Lauder sale on OKL right now...

The set costs a cool $11,000. We can all dream...(or promptly do a search on Craigslist for "vintage brass suede dining chairs set")

If you bought this set of chairs...what kind of table would you pair them with???

Art Deco Chinese Rugs

FEAST your eyes on this amazing assortment of antique Art Deco Chinese rugs! They are works of art!

Shockingly gorgeous. Like the best de Gournay wallpaper, but for your floor! Oh my, to have one of these rugs grace my home. Can you imagine? I would love to design a dining room with one of these.

They are antique and ridiculously gorgeous and so are crazy expensive but I adore absorbing their beauty. I can't pick a favorite - each one has the most beautiful motif and collection of colors.

Check out the sale on One Kings Lane and drool right along with me...

Have you checked out the Decorative Carpets sale going on right now over on One Kings Lane? These small accent rugs are like art prints! Couldn't you imagine one printed up on paper and hung in a lovely frame? They are fabulous!

The selection is HUGE and these rugs would make the perfect little accent in a room - lots of personality.

The sale ends soon, but if you are still interested check out the Decorative Carpets website - lots of eye candy. Including this example:

Where can I get that coffee table?! And those dining chairs! And that lamp is as tall as me!

Loecke and Nixon on OKL

I absolutely love the designing duo of John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon. Their approach to design is so carefree, colorful and fun. Recall that this dining room not only inspired my own dining room, but I'm pretty sure it's what officially sealed the deal that I was obsessed with interior design and launched me into consuming and appreciating this beautiful world of spaces.

John and Jason are having a fantastic sale on One Kings Lane right now - I think this is their 3rd or 4th sale and they are always fun to look through to enjoy their quirky and energetic finds. Some of my favorites:
