Aztec Oilcloth

The vibrant colors and patterns of oilcloth fabric are so fun to look at...I always find myself stopping in a fabric store to admire them. They are the perfect fabric for outdoor use since their finish is slick and waterproof.

I recently came across this fabric called Aztec Oilcloth that has an exuberant Otomi pattern in an explosion of colors. I thought they would be perfect to cover some outdoor seats or even indoor dining or bar stool seats if you have particularly vibrant decor.

Love the orange colorway! This fabric is also perfect to use as a table cloth outside or to cover a dinette table.

Do you like working with oilcloth? How have you used it?

  1. LOVE it! I use to just use for table cloths but now do banquette cushions & have made some cute travel bags with it. Amy Butler has some great ones that are a light weight & easier to sew into the bags.
This patter is fab! Love all 3 colors! great price!!!

This is beautiful, especially in the lime. I used a heavy oilcloth on a set of bar stools in my pool house and also covered the sectional sofa in the same. The kids in damp suits can come in, have a hot dog and koolade and if they sit on the couch, I just wipe with a dry towel. Its really kid and mama-friendly.

  4. I have this exact one! Only in gray. I used it to cover dining chairs, because oilcloth is so easy to wipe down when you have 2 kiddos! I stretched the left over pieces over canvas and used as decor in the guest bedroom!

**BTW, just found your blog, love it!

  5. The matt finish is still easy to wipe & has many of the great characteristics of the usual gloss oilcloth, but it is a more subtle finish which leaves the wipeable surface of the tablecloth looking less plastic & more like the original fabric. simplytablecloths.co.uk
