Remember this post where we enjoyed looking at some patio furniture with Chinoiserie flair? Well, I have another option for you and it's amazing...truly.
Look at this:
The Galante Collection from Ballard Designs. Now, if you owned this set, you would have the most chic backyard on the planet. Definitely the envy of the block. It's not inexpensive, but these are the times when paying a premium for good design is worth it. Shop it here.

Friday Crush
Photo by Isa Salazar via Lonny
Pink and gold, combined, are a supreme force. And executed on this fireplace at the Kips Bay Showhouse by Amanda Nisbet is a prime example of said power. I don't decorate enough with pink.
Have a wonderful weekend - hope you relax and/or get a lot done. See you Monday!

Modernity
If, say, this chair was put in a room next to a velvet tufted sofa...
...i would collapse, overwhelmed by the brilliant juxtaposition. This char is my new best friend. I've been so attracted to modern chairs recently. Can't get enough.
You can get this one on Etsy from seller HarBenger2 - check it out here.

Tune in Tonight
Recall that my favorite dining room, ever, was designed by John Loecke. The genius duo of Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon that brought you this...
...will now delight you with their loot to be sold on One Kings Lane this evening. I'm so excited for this sale and had to make sure you put an alert on your calendar to ping you circa 9 pm (ET) this evening.
The preview items:
Loecke and Nixon are colorful Chinoiserie geniuses...their interiors are simply happy. Check out the sale tonight and report back if you scoop something up.

Dark Tones
I love the dark tones of these spaces designed by Massucco Warner Miller for a DC-area home.
Sultry + Sophisticated. The skinny sconces and the smoky chandelier are so posh. High marks all around. Wonder where this house is around here...

Kate Gifts Herend Elephants
In my world, Kate Middleton gifts Herend elephants to her attendants.
And sets her table with Alberto Pinto china against a Herend charger:
Wanna see what else I envision for Kate and Wills' big day? See my wedding inspiration board over at the WeddingWire blog...my take on a stylish, modern royal wedding!
p.s. I love my job. *Lucky girl*
And she wears these crystal pumps to her reception:

Clean
I like marble in a bathroom a whole, whole lot. It looks so modern and gorgeous...all sparkly and fresh and whatnot. The epitome of clean.
Like this:
I could totally be on board with freshening up in this establishment, designed by one of my web design clients nonetheless - Virginia Kitchens. If you are local in Northern Virginia, Virginia Kitchens does some awesome kitchen/bath remodeling and renovation...check them out.

Kin Zakura
Remember my chic combo last week? Allow me to add a layer. I would dine off these dishes:
Kin Zakura by Royal Limoges. I am newly obsessed with this china pattern. So glam and shocking in its attractiveness. I want to own it so that when asked my china pattern, I can reply, "Kin Zakura."
Happy Monday.

Friday Crush
You know I love a bar. Especially on a Friday. This close-up of genius is by NYC-based Scout Designs. The black and white glasses are killer...sitting atop that tray atop that emerald Chinoiserie cabinet. Perfect arrangement.
Have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday!

A Chic Combo
Upset that I don't own this rug.
But, if I did, I would place this chair on it.
And get myself this brass lamp.
And then I'd sit back in my green, tufted velvet chair on my tribal rug sipping a drink by the light of my lamp and pat myself on the back for such a chic combo.

Sara Tuttle
The latest issue of High Gloss Magazine introduced me to DC-area designer Sara Tuttle. And I couldn't be more pleased.
To think Sara is whipping up these incredible, colorful creations in my own backyard is very exciting. Her interiors are fresh and full of personality...perfect for the young professionals that abound in our area.
I must meet Miss Tuttle.

Buck House Designer's Eye
My web meanderings recently took me to the website of Deborah Buck's New York City shop, Buck House. Filled with antiques, art and Chinoiserie, this establishment is certainly on my "must visit" list next time I'm in the city.
In the meantime, Deborah has a fantastic little portion of the site devoted to small vignettes that she puts together of the items she carries. She calls it "Designer's Eye." It's like a mini picture blog showcasing her wares. I'm not sure how often it's updated, but I scrolled through what she has up thus far and the images served up a heavy dose of inspiration.
My favorites:
You can't decide which is your favorite and you wish you could be inside Buck House this very instant. Ditto.
